Elsie Marie Dawson                           Date of Death: November 28, 2001

Elsie Marie "Dee" Dawson 69 of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday at her home of natural causes. She was born in Steubenville on March 25, 1932 a daughter of the late Dio and Martha Belle O'Dell Long, Sr. She was preceeded in death by one brother Dio Long, Jr. Dee was a member of Colonial Baptist Church, Wintersville, Ohio and a graduate of Jefferson Union High School. She is survived by her husband Roy; four sons Ken "Lumpy" Dawson of Wintersville, Lonnie (Raelene) Dawson of Manhattan, KS, Rick (Rose) Dawson and Randy (Donna) Dawson of Steubenville, Ohio; two daughters Sue Kendall of Wintersville and Marti (Cliff) Lower of Colliers, WV; and two brothers Roy Long of Valdosta, GA and Ed Long of Bullhead City, AZ. Dee is the grandmother of eight. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home,215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Saturday 1-3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until time of services at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Randy Sells officiating. Private burial will be held at Richmond Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Colonial Baptist Church Building Fund.
