Emma Jean “Jeanne” Barker, 78, of Wintersville, OH died Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at her residence. She was born May 9, 1926 in Kodol, WV a daughter of the late James and Hazel Carney Jackson. Jeanne was a homemaker and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and its CWC. She was also a member of the Ladies of Moose 619 and Steubenville Elks & VFW Auxiliaries. Jeanne was also preceded in death by her husband John J. Barker on December 1, 2004 and son, Sam Jackson, two sisters Eleanor and Madge Jackson and a brother, Frank Jackson. Jeanne is survived by two daughters Deborah (James) Johnson of Steubenville, OH, Christina (Joseph) Mitchell of Wintersville, OH; son William Jackson of Follansbee, WV; Stepdaughter Marjorie Ann (James) Spellacy of Lakewood, OH; 12 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Friday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral liturgy with mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church Saturday at 9:30 am with Msgr. Gerald Calovini celebrating. St. Francis Society Rosary at 3 pm and Vigil service 3:45 Friday.
