Howard L. Hill Date of Death: July 2, 2003


Howard L. Hill 87 of Wintersville died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Lancia Villa Royale, Steubenville. He was born in Colliers, WV on December 31, 1915 a son of the late John J. and Iva B. Forrester Hill. He was one of the original members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wintersville, also belonged to several fraternal organizations throughout his life and was a Hamm radio operator with his call letters being “K8KAL”. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel after 44 years of service as a motor inspector electrician and a crane man. He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor B. Kubilus Hill, daughter Marilyn Powley, brothers Meryl, Marshall, James, Earl and William Hill, sister Iva A. Cribbs, grandson Robert Powley. He is survived by a son Larry (Jane) Hill of Toronto, OH, daughters Eva Burrows of Wintersville, Eleanor (Thomas) Williams of Steubenville and Ritajean (Harry) Beagle of Steubenville, sister Mildred Goodard of Wintersville, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be tonight from 7-9 p.m., and on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be on Saturday, 9:00a.m. at Blessed sacrament Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerald Calovini as celebrant. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville. Vigil service Friday 3:45 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, Jefferson County Chapter.
