John M. “Jack” Mutton, 83, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Saturday morning, February 17, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 6, 1923 in Steubenville the son of the late H. John and Myrta Yocum Mutton. Jack was the owner & operator of the former Mutton Hardware and Mutton Heating and Cooling. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church and a 1942 graduate of Steubenville High School. Jack was an Army veteran of WWII. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Tarr. Jack is survived by his wife Grace Albaugh Mutton; children Susie Gibson, John R. Mutton, Kathy (Dennis) McGrath and Richard L. Mutton all of Steubenville; grandchildren Tiffany (Aaron) Dobson, Lyndsey Mutton, Brittany (David) Ross & Bethani (Bill) Ryan; great grandson Kellen Dobson; and sister Mary Louise Helsey of Steubenville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Ronald Miller officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Valley Hospice or Teramana Cancer Center.
