David M. Waugh, 71, of Mingo Junction, Ohio died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at home. He was born January 1, 1936 in Wellsburg, WV a son of the late Lowell & Edna Bennett Waugh. He was past president of Mingo Lions Club. David was retired from Weirton Steel Co. Scale Dept., a 25 Year Club member and an Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Preceding him in death was one brother Walter “Bud” Waugh. Surviving are his wife Joanne Burke Waugh; three sons Edward Waugh & David (Hollie) Waugh both of Steubenville, and John (Diane) Waugh of Mingo; daughter Kate (Donald) Svoboda of Winter Haven, FL; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers Marvin (Nancy) Waugh & Terry (Judy) Waugh; and sisters Nancy Harris, Marlene (James) Garrett, Betty (Rex) Mosser & Marilee Morriston. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Avenue, Mingo Junction on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. On Saturday, friends may call at First U.P. Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Stan Fedyfzyn officiating. Private burial. Memorials may be directed to Mingo Fire Dept. -or- Valley Hospice.
