Helen J. Kasper, 91, of Wintersville, Ohio died Friday, July 27, 2007 at Country Club Manor, Steubenville, Ohio. She was born April 29, 1916 in Rankin, PA the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Mezoff Mehalko. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kasper, Jr.; three brothers, John, Edward and George Mehalko; and two sisters, Martha and Margaret Kostelnik. Helen was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church; Mary of Bethany Guild; Wintersville Senior Citizen Friendship Club and AARP. She is survived by three daughters, Karen (David) Krause of Wintersville, OH, Mary Lee Kasper of Williston, OH and June (Robin) Backstrom of Parker, CO; four grandchildren, Jason Backstrom, Kara (Avi) Dar, David (Joni) Krause and Kimberly (Erin) Kossack; and sister Ethel Echko of Pittsburgh. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service 12 noon at St. Mark Lutheran Church with Pastor John L. Telloni officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
