Howard M. "Bud" Haines                 Date of Death: September 26, 2007

Howard M. “Bud” Haines, 85, of Darien, GA, formerly of Wintersville, OH died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Magnolia Manor, Brunswick, GA. He was born August 3, 1922 in Boswell, PA a son of the late William H. and Mary R. Penner Haines. He retired from Weirton Steel Co. as a galvanizing line operator. Bud was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church; Serbian National Federation; American Legion Argonne Post 33; Pilgrim Lodge 691 F & AM and a Shriner. He served in the Army during WWII and the Navy Reserves during the Korean War. Preceding Bud in death were his wife Lillian Merrick Malbasa Haines on December 17, 2003; and several brothers. Surviving are his stepson Joseph (Nita) Malbasa of Darien; two granddaughters Danielle (Cameron) Rose & Brywn (Ben) Philips; great granddaughter Lilah Philips; and sister Shirley Makay. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
