Lucy I. McCombs, 94, of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Carriage House. She was born September 28, 1912 in Steubenville, the daughter of the late Harry D. and Hettie Mackey Swearingen. Preceding Lucy in death were her husband Richard E. “Dick” McCombs on June 13, 2007; brother Jay Swearingen; two infant brothers and nephew Jay Swearingen. Surviving are her beloved friend and caregiver Patsy (Lonnie) Shaffer of Wintersville; nephew William Swearingen of Tampa, FL and a great niece and nephew. Funeral services 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville with Minister Tom Arehart officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Valley Hospice, Inc.
