Fred M. Montgomery                          Date of Death: December 21, 2007

Fred M. Montgomery, 74, of Bloomingdale, Ohio died Friday, December 21, 2007 at Trinity West. He was born February 16, 1933 in Dublin, VA a son of the late Pearly F. & Grace T. Jones Montgomery. Fred retired as a pipefitter/welder from Steubenville Pipefitter Local Union 490 where he also served as a welding instructor. He was a Marine veteran serving during the Korean conflict, Lutheran by faith and a VFW member. Preceding Fred in death were two cousins Thornton and Arbie “Hoss” Phillips and his aunt and uncle who raised him, Alice & Lee Phillips. Surviving are his wife Dorothy M. Goodwin Montgomery; son Monty (Lisa) Montgomery of Wintersville, OH; daughter Sheryl (Eric) Hutton of Rayland, OH; three grandchildren Kayla Montgomery of Wintersville, OH and Joseph and Rachael Hutton of Rayland, OH; two sisters Elizabeth Maniery of Roseville, CA and Joselyn Hintz of Sacramento, CA and his two cats Pumpkin and Cuddles. A private service was held today at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home with Vicar David Abuya officiating. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association or Jefferson County Animal Welfare League.
