Norman V. Pancoast                            Date of Death: December 22, 2007
Norman V. Pancoast, 93, of Wintersville, Ohio, died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Valley Hospice Care Center North surrounded by his family. He was born January 22, 1914 in Bellaire, Ohio to the late Harry E. and Mary E. (Huntsman) Pancoast.  Norman was a member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and elder.  He was a 1931 graduate of Mingo Junction High School and served in the Ohio National Guard 136th Ambulance Corp of Steubenville, Ohio.
He worked for Wheeling Steel until 1941 when he joined the United States Postal Service (USPS) Railway Mail Service; he ran the mail car from Pittsburgh to Chicago for 29 years.  He then became a window clerk for the Wintersville Post Office, retiring from the USPS in 1975.  He was a member of Pilgrim Masonic Lodge #691 where he was a recipient of a 65-year service award pin.  Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Virginia E. Pancoast, daughter Margaret P. Gray (Robert); son Dale E. Pancoast (Darla); five grandchildren, Beth Ann, Linda, Stacie, Lisa, Scott; and five great-grandchildren, Dahlya, Noelle, Ryan, Taylor, Graham.  Friends may call at Starkdale Presbyterian Church with the Masonic Service at 9:45 a.m. and calling at 10 a.m. until the time of service at ll: a.m. with Rev. Dr. Philip Makari officiating.  Burial at Oakland Cemetery immediately following the calling.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Starkdale Presbyterian Church’s memorial fund.
