Jack R. Lowther, Sr., 76 formerly of Steubenville passed away quietly surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 12, 2016 in Massillon, OH.  He was born on December 3, 1939 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Clair W. and Carrie R. Rogers Lowther, Jr.  He graduated from Wintersville High School in 1957 where he lettered in football and baseball.  He was a 1961 graduate of Allied Institute of Technology as a master machinist.  He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel after 32 years as a tool and die maker.  He was a 50 year member of Pilgrim Lodge #691 and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.  Jack is survived by his wife Margaret “Maggie” Ault Lowther; children Janice (Phil) Isbell, Joan (Joel) Pfisthner, Joy (Mike) Everson, Jack (Tammy) Lowther III, Julia (John) Current;  grandchildren Joshua, Jaclyn, Jordan (Ty) Isbell, Jess and Jill Pfisthner, Courtney Dezentje, Michael and Mcgregor Everson, Wynnonah, Jack and Ray Lowther, Jacob, Jacquelyn (Paige), Jaelyn and John Wyatt Current; brother Gary (Janet) Lowther.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Friday from 3-7p.m., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10a.m. with Fr. Steven McKeown officiating.  Burial at Holly Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Suite E., Green, OH 44685 or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
