James P. Purviance

James P. Purviance, 79, of Wintersville passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Sienna Woods Nursing Center.  He was born in Steubenville on August 1, 1936 the son of the late Paul and Pauline Robinson Purviance.  James was a former member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church and Red Oaks Golf Club.  He had worked at M&M Hardware and for World Radio.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Albaugh Purviance on March 29, 2015.  Survived by his children Lisa (John) Young of Bloomingdale, Lori Purviance of Bedford, TX and Brian Purviance of Bloomingdale; sister JoAnne Sogan of North Canton, OH; 3 grandsons Adam, Anthony and Alex Young; 2 nephews and 5 nieces.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4p.m.
