Elizabeth "Betty" May Smith

Elizabeth “Betty” May Smith, 77, of Wintersville went home to see her Lord on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Lancia Villa Vista surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Steubenville on September 7, 1933 a daughter of the late William and Dorothy Rupert.  Betty was preceded in death by her two infant sons Floyd Howard Smith and Robert William Smith; brothers Raymond, Donald “Bummy”, Bill and James Rupert.  Survived by daughters Janet (Larry) Stevens of Richmond, OH and Carol (Dana) Gilcrest of Irondale, OH; son Vernon Smith and his companion Donna O’Dell of Mingo Junction; daughters Kathy Smith and her companion Terry Papola of Steubenville and Leisa Law and her companion Dwight Rhue of Oklahoma; twin brother Jack Rupert of New York; sister Beverly Haese of Mingo Junction; grandchildren Jennifer Newell, Stacey Stevens, Christine Slabaugh, Shannon McClain, Richard and Chad Allen, Amanda Stevens, Vernon Smith, Jessica and Teresa Law, Daniel Gilcrest, Stephanie Stevens and Christopher Smith; 15 great grandchildren.  She will be sadly missed by every heart she touched and hand she held.  Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClaves), 611 N. 4th Street, Steubenville, OH on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8p.m., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday , 12:30p.m. with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating.  Burial at Fort Steuben.
