



John R. Maragos, 49, of Wintersville died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Trinity West. He was born December 10, 1958 in Steubenville the son of Spiro G. and Evelyn P. Fluharty Maragos of Wintersville. John was employed by Timet Metals as an operator and was a member and secretary of Wintersville American Legion # 557, sons of American Legion, 1977 graduate of Wintersville High School and played guitar and sang with “Yesterday Hooligans”. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lee and Sylva Hibbs Fluharty, paternal grandparents Gust and Rose Rovnak Maragos and uncle Jack Fluharty. John is survived by his wife Phyllis Robin Bell Maragos; sons Brian (Alicia) Maragos of Steubenville and Johnny Maragos of North Carolina; daughter Nicole Maragos-Jones of North Carolina; step-sons Philip Michael, Tony and Zach Bell all of Wintersville; sisters Pamela Kay Maragos and her companion Ronnie Miller and Amy E. (John Paul) Neidengard all of Wintersville; niece Hannah Neidengard of Wintersville; granddaughters Tae’lor and Kylee Maragos, Zoe Lee Jones and Kaylee Allred; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville with Rev William Hibbs and Rev. David Sperry officiating.
