Lois E. Goldberg

Lois E. Goldberg, 89, of Steubenville, Ohio, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Carriage House.  She was born December 24, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ciel Evans Notovitz.    Lois retired after many of service as the librarian at Steubenville High School.  After her retirement she worked locally as a librarian for the Public Libraries of Jefferson County and Franciscan University.  Her desire in life was to encourage everyone to read.  Lois had a passion for learning earning a masters degree.  She was a graduate of Penn State and Duquesne University.  Preceding Lois in death were her husband Bernard S. Goldberg and sister Shirley Steen.  Surviving are her children, Henry N. (Martha) Goldberg of Costonia, OH and Andrea (Kevin) Parks of Columbus, OH; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  A service will be held at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Friday at 12 p.m. with Rabbi David Novitsky officiating.  Burial at Union Cemetery.
