Lorene M. Kovarik

Lorene M. Kovarik, 100, of Steubenville, Ohio died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Valley Hospice North. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on April 18, 1909 the daughter of the late Charles & Gertrude Stewart Mayes. Lorene was Catholic by faith. Preceding Lorene in death were her husband Joseph A. Kovarik; daughter Elizabeth Rice; four grandsons; one great grandson and her twin brother Charles Stewart Mayes. Surviving are her children Thomas (Barbara) Kovarik of Spruce Pine, NC, Matthew (Marge) Kovarik of Follansbee, Cecilia (late Anthony, Jr.) Arrico of Steubenville, Anna Kennedy with whom she resided, Joseph (Linda) Kovarik of Oxford, Ohio & Thom (Carol) Gail of Thousand Palms, CA; 20 grandchildren; 30 great  and 9 great great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of services at 7 p.m. with Msgr. William Cornelius officiating. Burial at Toronto Union Cemetery. Memorials may directed to Valley Hospice, Inc.
