Mary E. Keifer

Mary E. Keifer, 95, of Steubenville died Friday, February 19, 2010 at Weirton Medical Center.  She was born in Burgettstown, PA a daughter of the late Lawrence and Nettie Blanche Snodgrass Baker.  Mary was a member of Finley United Methodist Church and was an active volunteer with R.S.V.P. and many other organizations.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Smith Keifer; sister LaVerta Melvin; brothers Walter, William, Lawrence, Paul, Harry and Jack Baker.  Mary is survived by her daughter Mary Jane (Dr. Gary) Payne of Holmes Beach, FL and West Chester, OH; sister Ruth Logue of Weirton, WV; brother Robert Baker of Langloth, PA; grandchildren Allison Payne of Mason, OH, Andrea (Mike) Tannreuther of Bellbrook, OH, Gary L. (Noma) Payne, Jr. of Milford, OH and Angela (Chris) John of  Miamisburg, OH; great grandchildren Stan and Alexander Burton, Christina Blackburn, Angela, Kaitlyn and Todd Payne, many nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home (formerly McClaves), 611 N. 4th Street, Steubenville on Tuesday from 4-6p.m. and on Wednesday from 11:30a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating.  Burial at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Florence, PA.  Memorial contributions can be made to Finley United Methodist Church, 958 Lincoln Ave., Steubenville, OH 43952.
