



Paul Medich, 83, of Wintersville, Ohio passed Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born October 21, 1924, in Mingo Junction, a son of the late Samuel S. and Martha Millich Medich. Preceded in death by four sisters, Ann M. Eft, Mildred Cecela, Helen Herrick and Sophie Johnston; and two brothers, Mike and Lew Medich. Paul was a retired electrician from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. and a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Steubenville; Newton Falls V.F.W. and a graduate of Wintersville High School class of 1943.
Paul served in the 82ND Airborne Division during W.W. II and was awarded numerous decorations and medals; two Presidential Unit Citations; Purple Heart with Clusters; Bronze Star with Clusters.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Doan Medich, whom he married on March 2, 1962; two sons, Paul David Medich of Arlington, TX and Michael (Sherri) Medich of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Paula (Robert) Nofsinger of Strasburg, VA; five grandchildren, David Michael, Philip James, Matthew Steven and Michaela Ann Medich and Lauren Jade Nofsinger; a brother, George (Stella) Medich of Steubenville; two sisters, Louise (Frank) Gerard of Painesville, OH and Olga (Jim) Bryden of Williamsport, PA.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville, on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Very Rev. Rade Merick officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville, where Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct services. Pomen service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be directed to 82nd Airborne Division Association.
