Stacy E. Kerr Zimish, 41, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family and loyal dog Skip at her side. Born April 12, 1970 in Steubenville, Ohio, she was a 1988 graduate of Steubenville High School and 1992 graduate of Franciscan University. Stacy was a nurse in the maternity department at Weirton Medical Center for 18 years, as well as an instructor at Mercy Hospital and Franciscan University. She dedicated her career to bringing life into the world and sharing her pursuit of knowledge with others. Stacy courageously fought Lou Gehrig’s disease for eight years, never once allowing it to define her life. While she was given a bad break, she knew there were many more great things to live for. Stacy will be remembered for her strong will and genuine kindness. Taken from this life too soon, Heaven now has one more angel with wings to watch over us. She is survived by her husband Todd M. Zimish; children Zachary, Allie, and Zane; parents William T. and Ruth Penn Kerr; brother Tom (Shannon) Kerr and sister Lisa (Dr. James) Vodvarka. The family would like to thank Valley Hospice and the community for their unwavering support. Stacy Zimish will be forever missed by her family, friends, and each person she touched in this life. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville on Friday from 2 - 7 p.m. and on Saturday at Bell Chapel U.M. Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. with Rev.
