



Vincenzo Stabene, 94 died on June 7, 2009 at his home in Roggiano Gravina, Calabria after a brief illness. He was a businessman and spent many years of his young life in the Italian Navy as a “Sottocapo” on the destroyer Polluce. While serving in the Navy, Vincenzo saved all his money to build a beautiful shrine in honor of the Blessed Mother at the Crossroad “Carcare”. Even today, people passing by, stop to say a prayer and then continue their journey. Vincenzo had a passion for medical books and was an expert in all kinds of medicines.
Preceding Vincenzo in death were his parents Salvatore & Pasqualina Stabene; wife Italia; son Giovanni and young brother Osvaldo.
He is survived by three daughters Anna, Maria Antonietta (Agostino), and Daniela; son Francesco (Nuccia); grandchildren Francesco, Achille, Mauro, Giancarlo, Vincenzo, Giovanni & Sara; brother Rev. Fr. Edmondo Stabene of Wintersville, Ohio; sister Marietta Cristofaro; many nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held in his parish church and burial in the beautiful Stabene Family chapel in the local cemetery.
