William J. Prolago

William Joseph Prolago, 81, of Steubenville died Monday, September 28, 2009 at Trinity West ER.  He was born in Steubenville on May 4, 1928 a son of the late Frank A. and Mary N. (Romano) Prolago, Sr.  He was a former employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for 40 years, a school teacher and served in the U.S. Navy.  He graduated from Steubenville High School, the University of Steubenville and was a member of Alpha Phi Delta fraternity and Holy Family Catholic Church.  Preceded in death by four infant siblings in addition to brothers Louis, Frank, Jr. and Paul Prolago; sisters Virginia Smogonovich and Madalyn Frascketti.  William is survived by brothers Raymond of Steubenville and Robert of Wintersville; sisters Jeanette Bracciale and Helen Sciaretti, both of Maryland, Isabelle Bengier of Wintersville, Anna (George) Stirpe of Columbus, OH and Mary E. Reeves of Steubenville along with numerous nieces and nephews.  At the request of the family there will be no visitation and services will be private.
