Evelyn L. Davis

Evelyn L. Davis, 79, of Wintersville, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at her home.  She was born April 16, 1930 in Shirley, WV a daughter of the late Lee and Clara George Smith.  Evelyn was a fun, loving woman who cared about everybody.  She was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church.  Preceding Evelyn in death were her husband Fred E. Davis; four brothers Ray, Ralph, Roy and Robert Smith and four sisters Esta and Edna Smith, Effie Spencer and Edith Mayes.  Surviving are her children Debbie Strait of Reynoldsburg, OH and Gregory S. (Phyllis) Davis of Westminster, MD; six grandchildren Regan (Jason) Kirchner of Morgantown, WV, Tim (Angel) Murphey of Richmond, OH, William Strait of Lexington, KY, Rachel Strait of Detroit, MI, Jessica Strait of Baltimore, MD and Laura Strait of Reynoldsburg, OH; three great grandchildren Misty and Holly Kirchner and Laine Murphey; brother Raymond Smith of Fredericktown, OH; two sisters-in-law Janice Smith of Weirton, WV and Wilma Smith of Fredericktown, OH and many nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Sunday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a service will be held Monday 10 a.m. with Rev. Bill Westling officiating.  Burial at Fort Steuben.  Memorial donations may be directed to Valley Hospice, 380 Summit Avenue, Steubenville, OH 43952.
