John W. "Scotty" Scott, Sr.

John W. “Scotty” Scott, Sr., 97, of Steubenville, Ohio died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Trinity West ER.  He was born January 10, 1913 a son of the late John W. and Celia Owings Scott.  John was a member of Wintersville United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir; the Choral Society and a former member of the former LaBelle View Methodist Church.  He retired as a production foreman from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was a poll worker for the elections.  John was on the Steubenville Beautification Committee and a volunteer at the Fort Steuben Visitor Center.  Preceding John in death were his wife of 69 years, whom he married on June 12, 1940, Ethel Scott; sister Wanda Atkinson and brother Hugh Scott.  Surviving are his daughter Jacqueline (Norbert) Farnaus of Downers Grove, IL; son John W. (Bendett) Scott, Jr. of Mingo Junction, OH; five grandchildren Scott (Nicole) Farnaus, Jennifer (Tracy) Van Houtan, Elizabeth (Michael) Sara, Kristin (Anthony) Fante and Erin (Lance) Coulter; 13 great grandchildren Alex, Quin, Caden and Gabriella Farnaus, Noah, Emily and Laine Van Houtan, Audrey and Elise Sara and Morgan, Madison, Bryce and Matthew Coulter.  There will be no visitation.
