



Rachel “Eva” McClave Atkinson, 95, of Bloomingdale, OH went home to be with her Lord Sunday, November 15, 2009 at The Laurels of Steubenville. She was born in Bergholz, OH on November 8, 1914 a daughter of the late R. William and Sarah Donaldson McClave. Rachel was a homemaker and a member of Finley United Methodist Church where she was a member and past president of the United Methodist Women and taught Sunday School until the age of 88. She was valedictorian of Bergholz High School Class of 1932. She was a Red Cross volunteer and instructor for many years. She was the best mom and grandma ever. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Raymond “Bus” Atkinson; her son George “Jerry” Atkinson and two great grandchildren Tiffany Urick and Ricky Davis. Surviving are three sons John (Shelly) Atkinson of Kent, OH, Rev. Paul (Lynda) Atkinson of Jeromesville, OH and Richard Atkinson of Las Vegas, NV; three daughters Kay (Rev. Delbert) Lash with whom she resided, Gayle Monroe of Steubenville, OH and Mary Margaret “Peggy” Skipper of Toronto, OH; sister Wilma “Billie” Fidoe of Canton, OH; daughter-in-law Betty Atkinson of Toronto, OH; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH Wednesday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. and at Finley United Methodist Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
