JAMES THOMAS “MUC” McCLEERY, 59, died unexpectantly on Sunday,
Septermber 23, 2018. A graduate of Wintersville High School Class of 1977, Tom
was a friend to everyone he met throughout his life. With a sparkle in his blue
eyes, he had a personality like none other. A man of few words who rarely openly
expressed his emotions, Tom cared deeply and compassionately for all those he
knew. Our hearts will forever have a void that is left by his absence.
Tom worked as a supervisor for BHI engineering thru AEP in Moundsville for 14years while also
working on the family farm with his father and then with his son, Dakota. He was
a member of the Jefferson and Mingo Sportsman’s Clubs, Ohio Farm Bureau,
Ohio Cattleman’s Association and American Legion Post 557
Predeceased by his parents, Veronica and James S. McCleery, and his only son,
Dakota James McCleery, Tom is survived by his life-long companion Valerie
Shrieve, sister Susan (Mark) Viola, brother Charles, two nieces, two nephews, two
great-nieces, one great-nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
