Michael J. Walkosky Obituary

Michael J. Walkosky, 78, of Steubenville passed away Monday, August 28, 2018 at Trinity West. He was born in Steubenville on June 5, 1940 a son of the late Michael J. and Agnes G. Bates Walkosky. Mike was retired from Weirton Steel in Labor Relations, served two terms as a Jefferson County Commissioner, former Mayor of Steubenville, former President of the Jefferson County Beekeepers Association and helped to form the Jefferson County Industrial Park. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Anna E. Buffone Walkosky on December 13, 2014; and his son Paul Walkosky. Mike is survived by his sons Michael, Joseph and David (Wendy) Walkosky; grandchildren Erika, Joey, Jessica, Nicole, Courtney, Paulo, Nicolo, Matteo and Giano. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Thursday from 4-7p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be on Friday, August 31, 2018, 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerald E. Calovini officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
